WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 19, 2013 – Certified Public Accountants and Management Consultants’ Managing Partner, George S. Willie, joins with the University of the West Indies at Mona, Jamaica to co-host a visionary new lecture series. The goal of this series is to inspire the next generation of influential professionals. The lectures are designed as a public forum where the Jamaican public is invited to learn from and share dialogue with preeminent international professionals.
The inaugural lecture is Monday, June 24, 2013, hosted at the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies. The topic will be “The Search for a Post-Racial Society in the Age of President Obama” delivered by Professor Charles Ogletree, the Jesse Climenko Professor of Law at Harvard University. Charles Ogletree serves as the Executive Director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice and as a Mentor to US President Barack Obama. Professor Ogletree is known for his zealous pursuit of constitutional rights and criminal justice issues in over thirty years serving as a litigator.
This dynamic program will expose both students and educators to some of the world’s most influential leaders. He has testified on numerous occasions before various regulatory and legislative bodies and has been a regular lecturer at multiple forums on accounting specific challenges. George Willie has also served as a significant contributor to the educational community as a former assistant professor of accounting at both Howard University and the University of the District of Columbia.
